The greatest way to see Ladakh is to see it up, near and personal. Even the best images don’t do justice to the ethereal splendor of this lonely hill area. With the snow-capped Himalayas as a backdrop, Ladakh boasts a fascinating mix of harsh terrain and gushing rivers and is home to some of the top hiking destinations in the country. A Ladakh hiking tour is one of the most hard as well as energizing experiences. It is a true test of endurance enabling you ascend some of the best summits in the mountain range like Mount Stock Kangiri and Mount Kangyatse.
Greetings
upon arrival at the airport in New Delhi. After meeting & Assisting at the
airport, our representatives will lead the customers to the hotel, which
comprises an overnight stay.
Welcome
on arrival at Ladakh (altitude 11,400 ft.) & acclimation. Have your woolen
cap and gloves handy. You will be flying over extensive sections of
snow-covered Himalayan Mountains, making it apparent why it’s impossible to
reach Ladakh on the road in the winter. When you land in Leh, a chilly and crisp
air will greet you, and you will experience a sudden difference in the weather.
Leh has just begun to wake up from its sleep with only a few shops open. The
coolness in the air will serve simply as a preview of the temperatures on our
winter trek. Be sure to rest enough to acclimate to the weather here, and
remember to drink enough water and keep yourself hydrated; the night is spent
at a guest house. Overnight stay at Hotel.
According
to the new regulations put in place by the Ladakh government authorities,
anyone undertaking the Chadar Trek should stay in Leh for at least two days in
order to thoroughly acclimatize their body to the local climate, given the
health issues that trekkers are experiencing (Acute Mountain Sickness). Every
trekker must adhere to it strictly because it is irrevocable. The Leh market is
an excellent place to spend the day shopping. The temperature will only start
to drop when you start walking on the snowy Zanskar, where it falls well below
zero even in the sun, so it will be beneficial if you become used to the cold
weather in Leh. It is recommended that you stay away from locations that are
higher up. Before you go to bed, you should also double-check and confirm all
the requirements. Spend the night in the tent.
The
hikers must have a medical examination at the Sonam Norbhu Memorial Hospital
per Jammu and Kashmir government regulations. You can only get a green light
for Chadar when the officer gives you the all-clear. The hikers will also
receive insurance, wildlife permits, and other necessary documents. You can
take a physical wild card and choose a different local Leh & Ladakh trip
before the morning of the fourth day if you decide you want to opt-out or if
the government has determined you are unsuitable. Spend the night in the tent.
You
will be traveling to the Shingra Koma's beginning point on this particular day.
Numerous famous locations, including Gurudwara Pathar Sahib, Magnetic Hill, and
the Zanskar and Indus meeting point, may be seen on one of the most picturesque
drives in all of Ladakh. Chilling is around ninety minutes along the Zanskar
River. You will begin walking on Zanskar after the car drops you off at the
road finish. It will definitely be difficult at first to walk while wearing
gumboots. It will take some time to get the hang of ice development patterns.
Since Chadar Trek has a variety of surface types, you will need to distinguish
between the fragile and the robust, but you will learn more about them as you
go along. In most cases, you will need to plant your foot; before you step on
the ice, use your walking stick to evaluate its hardness. To effectively manage
and use the weight on your own, make sure your rucksack is small and light. The
day's journey will lead you to Gyalpo, the adventure's first camping, which is
located at a river bend and is surrounded by breathtaking rock faces and high
hills. This will be your first time camping in below-freezing temperatures.
Spend the night in the tent.
Altitude
does not continue to rise quickly on the Chadar hike. You will only climb 300
feet from Gyalpo to Tibb Cave during the five to six-hour journey. Enjoy a warm
breakfast after waking up from a chilly night. You will pass some of the most
beautiful ice waterfalls on your way to the next campground at Tibb Cave.
Although the origin or source of these waterfalls is unknown, they are
nevertheless breathtaking. You will stop halfway to Tibb Cave for lunch, with
the emerald-green waters of the Zanskar rushing right next to you. You will encounter
peculiar rock patterns as you proceed, which will gleam characteristically
under the sun's rays. The day's camping will be close to Tibb Cave, which is
surrounded by dry sand. Spend the night in the tent.
Since
you will be traveling to Naerak after breakfast today, the campground is the
most anticipated one for the day. You will have the opportunity to see the ice
waterfall, the most breathtaking feature of the Chadar Trek, during the
13-kilometer journey. Trekkers and adventurers from all over the world come to
see this frozen waterfall, which is a natural wonder in and of itself. A hot
lunch will be provided while traveling to Naerak. Since temperatures can drop
as low as -30 degrees throughout the night, Naerak will be the coldest
campground on the route. Wearing layers and appropriate gear will be essential
to protecting yourself from the extreme cold. You would have plenty of time to
explore the settlement of Naerak if you arrived at the waterfall on time. The
ice waterfall will be 15 to 20 minutes away from where you stay. Spend the
night in the tent.
You
will begin the return trip and return to the Tibb cave after breakfast today.
If you assume that the more accessible part of the journey is returning, the
Chadar will force you to reconsider. The Zanskar River continuously repackages
itself in response to even the slightest temperature fluctuation. It would be
difficult to determine whether you have been here previously because the Chadar
would have taken on a completely different form. You will see many locals
navigating the Chadar in the traditional woolen Gonchas on your way back to Tibb
Cave. Some of these people are monks returning to Leh from the monastery at
Lingshed, while others are young students returning to Leh schools with their
parents after vacation. This scene is sufficiently heartwarming to witness.
You'll be astounded at how these people have managed to remain cheerful despite
the below-freezing temps. Spend the night in the tent.
Trek
up to Gyalpo from Tibb and continue on to ShingraYokma today. The towering
mountain walls that rise from the river's banks resemble castle walls. Along
the way, you will see many new footprints and trails, including those of foxes,
ibex, and snow leopards. You would be pretty fortunate to spot a Snow Leopard,
but you can almost be sure that one is watching you constantly. Going back the
way we came, this is your final opportunity to see the stunning and alluring
Chadar, which you will undoubtedly miss. You will be asked about the experience
of trekkers who are ready to embark on their journey along the road. Playing
guide to these people and discussing the event with someone when it's still
fresh in your mind will be unique. It will be approximately 6:30 p.m. when you
get to Leh. Booking your return flight for the ninth day rather than the eighth
is advised. You get to sleep in a lovely guest house tonight. Spend the night
at the hotel.
Following
breakfast, you will be taken to the airport and checked out of the guesthouse.
Then, you will board the aircraft to continue your journey back.
