You
will take pleasure in a tour around Bengaluru today. You will first be taken to
Lal Bagh, a nationally and internationally recognized center for botanical art,
plant conservation, and plant science. It is a sanctuary for those who enjoy
the outdoors, spanning 240 acres and supporting 1,854 plant species. The rare
French, Afghani, and Persian provenance plants are featured in this park,
commissioned by Hyder Ali and finished by his son Tipu Sultan. It has been
designated a Government Botanical Park. You will then be shown the Maharaja's
Palace, a masterpiece of beauty and architecture. Constructed in 1878, it is
currently Bangalore's main draw. This 45,000-square-foot mansion, which
resembles England's majestic Windsor Castle, combines Tudor and Scottish Gothic
architectural styles. After touring the government buildings, you will take a
car to Mysore. It is in Mysore for the night.
With
its elaborate architecture, glittering royal legacy, renowned silk sarees, and
much more, Mysore is one of the most colorful cities symbolizing history. You
will first be brought to the palace in Mysore. It is a stunning structure that
will astound you. It was planned by Maharaja Krishnaraja Wadiyar IV and
enlarged by his son. A combination of Saracenic and Hindu architectural styles
can be found here. After visiting the art gallery, you will visit Chamundi Hill
to see the Chamundeshwari Temple. From the hill, one can see the "city of
palaces." You will see the Nandi Bull on the way back and spend the
afternoon touring the Brindavan Gardens and the Krishnarajasagar Dam. Remain in
the hotel for the night.
On
the fourth day, you will be transported from Kochi to Ooty, commonly known as
Udhagamandalam or Ootacamund. Known as the "Queen of Nilgiris," this
city is in the Blue Mountains or Nilgiri Hills. The eucalyptus trees and the
kurinji flower, which blooms once every twelve years, emit a blue smoky haze
that gives the slopes a bluish hue, hence the name "Blue Mountains."
Ooty, created by Lord John Sullivan, a British governor of Coimbatore, provides
a picturesque vista.
Explore
the city's mountains, forests, lakes, miles of tea gardens, grasslands, and
eucalyptus trees during the calm afternoon hours. Would you be interested in
seeing a wide variety of roses? Visit the Rose Garden of the Government. There
are a thousand kinds of trees, bushes, and plants in the Ooty Botanical Gardens,
along with a fossilized tree that is 20 million years old. The boating
experience at Ooty Lake, surrounded by groves of eucalyptus trees, is
unforgettable. One of the area's oldest churches, St. Stephen's Church, will
also be on your itinerary. The Tribal Museum, the Wax Museum, and Deer Park are
noteworthy locations to visit. The Nilgiri Mountain Railway is an addition to
the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Ooty is where
overnight is.
You
will be transported from Ooty to Kochi this morning. It is a bustling
metropolis where the modern and the ancient coexist. For several centuries,
Kochi, known as the "Queen of the Arabian Sea," was a well-liked hub
for spice trade worldwide. The city's name, Kochazhi, is derived from the
Malayalam word for a tiny lagoon. Vasco-da-Gama placed the city on the map of
the world. Rich with Arab, Portuguese, British, and Dutch influences, it is
currently the second-most significant city on India's west coast. Kathakali dance
is also available here. In Kochi, spend the night.
You
will go to Alappuzha, which is well-known for the Arabian Sea's silvery waves,
on day six. Known as the "Venice of the East," this picturesque town
is crisscrossed by canals and features beaches, lagoons, and rustic backwaters.
Visitors flock here from all over the world to take a backwater cruise. You
would like to take pleasure in it as well while on your tour. Punnamada Lake
serves as the venue for the Nehru Trophy Boat Race. You must visit on the
second Saturday in August to see this. One of the most well-known locations in
the world where rice is grown below sea level is Kuttanad, sometimes known as
the "rice bowl of Kerala." Coir is the most significant product produced
locally.
A
memorable experience is setting out on a rice houseboat. Kerala's picturesque
backwaters, which are made up of canals, lakes, and lagoons, are the result of
shore currents that originate in the low-barrier islands. Take a houseboat for
a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to enjoy peaceful backwater cruises. This
allows you to witness nature in its most beautiful state. It's a wonderful
experience to stay in the floating cottages with thatched roof coverings. You
spend the night at Alappuzha.
You
will be transported from Alappuzha to Periyar Animal Sanctuary, commonly known
as Thekkady, this morning. The remainder of the time should be spent relaxing.
Primarily known as an elephant and tiger reserve, it is home to a variety of
creatures, including Bengal tigers, wild boars, sambars, Indian elephants,
leopards, wild dogs, langurs, and monkeys. It also boasts a profusion of flora
and fauna. To see the animals, reserve a boat excursion in Periyar Lake. There
are tea and coffee plantation areas all throughout the park; a visit to one is
a one-of-a-kind experience. A gentle hike in the surrounding areas is another
option. Stay here for the night.
You
will be transported to Madurai, the city that is considered to be the heart of
Tamil Nadu, on day eight. Madurai, one of India's oldest cities, is well-known
for the Meenakshi Amman Temple. Take a stroll through the city in the
afternoon. Lord Siva and his wife Meenakshi are the subjects of the Meenakshi
temple, which was constructed 2,000 years ago and subsequently enlarged by
Thirumalai Nayak. Because of its realistic elements, the Hall of Thousand
Pillars is well-known. The most intriguing feature is that the outermost
corridors' musical pillars will generate melodies when tapped. Alagar Hills,
Tirumala Nayak Palace, and the Tirupara Kundran Rock Shrine are further sites
worth seeing. Spend the night in Madurai.
You
will go to Thanjavur, also known as Tanjore, today from Madurai. This city,
which served as the capital of the Chola empire, is well-known for its Tanjore
paintings and Bharatanatyam, a traditional dance style. The Brihadeeswara Shiva
Temple is a UNESCO World Heritage Site that was constructed in the eleventh century
AD by King Raja Raja Chola. The temple is constructed using an Egyptian method.
The temple's main draw is an 80-ton granite block that was raised to the summit
via a 6-kilometer slope. You will also visit the Saraswati Mahal Library, the
Raja Raja Chola art collection, and the Thanjavur Maratha Palace. Stay the
night here.
You
will be driven to the colonially influenced city of Puducherry today. In 1674,
the city was taken over by the French, who decorated it with colonial churches,
structures, temples, statues, and more. The colonial atmosphere is reflected in
the well-planned pathways. Large structures, monuments, and a number of
beaches, including Paradise Beach, Promenade Beach, Auroville Beach, and
Serenity Beach, will also be visible.
Reflecting
its roots in Saint Agasthya, Pondicherry is separated into the Indian
"Ville Noire" and French "Ville Blanche" quarters. The
French quarters have colonial-type buildings and houses in the French style. An
internationally recognized ashram is Sri Aurobindo Ashram. Additionally, you
will visit the well-known Hindu shrine of Lord Ganesha, Sri Manakula Vinayagar,
and the worldwide town of Auroville, where people of all ethnicities coexist
together. You spend the night in Puducherry.
On
day 11, you will go to Mamallapuram, a historic archeological wonder from
Puducherry, formerly known as Pondicherry. Also known as Mamallapattana or
Mahabalipuram, this UNESCO World Heritage Site was once known as the
"Seven Pagodas" metropolis. But only the Shore temple remains of the
Seven Pagodas. It was an important harbor for the Pallavas and also a busy
seaport that enabled traders to go from here to Southeast Asia. This location
is identified as Sea Mountain even in the ancient writings. Stay here for the
night.
You
will see the mandapams and the cave temples this morning. The events from Hindu
mythology, epics, and tales are portrayed on the rocks here. The temples are
incredibly gorgeous and were constructed under the reigns of Narasimhavarman
and Rajasimhavarman. The largest bas-relief in the world, Arjuna's Penance,
will also be visible to you. One of the oldest temples in South India, the
Shore Temple's twin structure was constructed using dressed stone. The granite
carvings will entice you to return time and time again. You spend the night in
Mahabalipuram.
You
will be driven to the Chennai airport on the thirteenth day in order to catch your
next journey. Tamil Nadu's energetic capital, Chennai, is derived from
Chennaipattan. In addition to being the heart of Carnatic music and South
India's major economic and industrial center, the city is well-known for its
Tamil film industry. The city was moved to a naval port after the English
protected it from the French. Here, you'll see a number of interesting
locations in addition to the museums.Your South Vacation Tour comes to an end.
