  • DAY 3: SRINAGAR

Once breakfast is finished, go sightseeing. See the well-known Hindu shrine known as Shankaracharya, which is located near Srinagar on the Shankaracharya Hill in the Zabarwan Range. Lord Shiva is the object of its devotion. The temple has a view of Srinagar and is situated 1,000 feet (300 meters) above the valley floor.

Then proceed to the well-known Mughal Gardens by Dal Lake, which includes Shalimar Bagh (constructed in 1619 for his wife Noor Jahan by Mughal Emperor Jahangir), Nishat Bagh (designed and constructed in 1633 by Asif Khan, Noor Jehan's older brother), and Chashme Shahi (constructed in 1632 AD around a spring by Ali Mardan Khan, a governor of Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan, on the Emperor's orders as a present for his eldest son Prince Dara Shikoh).

Next, go to Boulevard Road. A series of wayside cafes, motels, and Kashmiri art sellers on the slopes of the Zabarwan Mountains on the right border, while the Dal Lake is on the left. In addition to having the second-highest Gondola ride in the world, Gulmarg is surrounded by deep gorges, flower meadows, snow-capped towering Himalayas, and valleys covered in evergreen forests.

Up to Phase 2, enjoy the Gondola ride. The main attraction in Gulmarg is the Gulmarg Gondola, the second-longest and second-highest cable car in the world. Split into two halves, it transports about 600 passengers per hour to and from Apharwat Mountain, the site of the majority of Gulmarg's winter activities.

After that, go to the Hindu temple in Mattan called Martand Sun Temple, which was built in the eighth century CE and is devoted to Surya, the Sun God. The temple complex was founded by the third Karkota Dynasty emperor, Lalitaditya. The architecture is beautiful, even in its broken state, and the atmosphere is charming and nostalgic.
